Invalid User ID

If you or the branch gets this error message:
  • Please make sure your ID is compliant with the following:
    • Maximum size = 12 characters
    • No special characters (example: ! @ * : )
    • You can use a combination of letters and numbers, or
    • You can use all letters, or
    • You can use all numbers
    • Your User ID is NOT case sensitive. You can save the id in lower case and then type it in in upper case (or vice versa) , and it will still work
  • Please re-enter your User ID and password
These are the possible reasons why:
  • The branch attempted to login without first creating their User ID. The administrator needs to create a User ID for this branch and give a temporary password. The branch can then use this User ID to gain access to NIBCOpartner. See "How to Create User IDs and Passwords."
  • The branch already exists as a user but when they tried to log on they did not enter their User ID correctly. To correct this, the administrator should go to the Security Administration screen and verify that the branch is using the correct User ID. If they are not, then click on the User ID and use the e-mail address or phone number listed in the user contact information to tell the user what the correct User ID is. This last step is to maintain tight security.

User Session Has Timed Out

If you or the branch gets this error message:
  • Please re-enter your User ID and password
  • If you created a quote , that document is still valid. You can login again and bring up that quote number.
  • If you were still selecting your items to be checked, you will need to reselect them. This data is lost.
These are the possible reasons why:
The user didnt move his mouse or type on his keyboard for 2 hour or more. This inactivity will time out the users, and they need to log back on.
  • The branch attempted to access NIBCOpartner by going to Help from the login page and then hitting Home on the navigation bar. The user needs to go to the log in page and log in first.

User ID is locked

If you or the branch gets this error message:
  • Please contact your security administrator for assistance
    • Administrators contact info given here
These are the possible reasons why:
  • The branch has unsuccessfully attempted to log on 6 times, and NIBCOs system locked their User ID. To correct this, unlock the User ID by going to the Security Administration screen and clicking on the User ID in question. This will take you to the User ID Options screen where you can unlock the User ID. If the password needs to be reset as well, then it can be done in the same page. Of course, in order for the User ID to be unlocked or a password reset the user needs to know the unique identifier that is tied to the User ID. This will ensure that you are speaking with the actual owner of the User ID, helping to maintain tight security.
  • You may also have locked the User ID at the request of the branch. You can check the log to see if this happened. To view the log go to the User ID Options screen and click Show Reason History.

User ID already exists

If you or the branch gets this error message:
  • Please enter a different User ID
These are the possible reasons why:
  • This message will pop up when you are creating a User ID for the first time. To accurately track a NIBCOpartner user, we will only allow one instance of a User ID. This means that we will not allow two users to have the same User ID. This is standard operating procedure for the web. To correct this error, simply need pick a different combination of letters and numbers for the User ID.

Invalid Password

If you or the branch gets this error message:
  • Please make sure your password is compliant with the following:
  • Length of password must be exactly 8 characters.
  • Your password should NOT contain the following character strings: "PASS", "pass", "sap", "SAP".
    • The first character must NOT be a question mark (?).
    • No special characters (example:> ! @ * ' : ) or spaces
    • No repeat characters (example: 11; aaa).
    • The 1st three characters must NOT be the same as any three consecutive characters of the User ID. For example, if "MYUSERID" is your user ID, you cannot use "SERVICE" for your password, because "SER" appears in the user ID, and they are first three letters of the password
    • Your password is case sensitive, so be careful to remember the case of your password
  • Please re-enter your User ID and password
These are the possible reasons why:
  • You or the branch attempted to create a password that does not match the rules listed in the error message above. Make sure branches follow these rules closely, or they will continue to have problems.
  • The branch forgot their password. To correct this, you can reset the users password from the User ID Options screen. If you want, the branch must give you the correct unique identifier before the password can be reset.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher allows users to save their passwords. We recommend to branches that they do not do this, because if they want to change their password, they may have a hard time changing it to the new one. They may see this error when they attempt to use the new password. Following is an excerpt from the FAQs on NIBCOpartner:
NIBCO recommends that you do NOT autosave your NIBCOpartner password. To turn this functionality off, go to Tools>Internet Options>Content. Next, go to Personal Information area and click the AutoComplete button. Remove the check out of the box for "User names and passwords on form" and "Prompt me to save passwords." If you do want to save it, and you get an "Invalid Password" message when you attempt to log on, then try typing over the saved password. That is, type over the ***** in your password field. You may get a warning message which states that this password is not the same as the saved password and do you want to save it? Just click "Yes" and continue. You should be able to get right to the NIBCOpartner Home page.

The maximum number of User IDs for this customer has been exceeded

If you get this error message:
  • If you require more User IDs please contact Customer Service using the information listed on the Contact Us page.
These are the possible reasons why:
  • You will get this error message when you attempt to create more User IDs than are allowed for a particular branch number. For example, the default number of User IDs a branch can have depends upon his location in the branch hierarchy. If he is a level one branch (usually the corporate headquarters), then you can create up to 10 User IDs against that branch number. If he is a level 2, 3, or 4, or if your location is not in a hierarchy, then you can create up to 3 User IDs against one branch number. To create more User IDs for a particular branch number, you can request a CSR to have the limit raised. Please contact Customer Service for more information.

An error has occurred

If you or a branch gets this error message:
  • The error is undetermined at this time.
For more information please contact Customer Service using the information listed on the Contact Us page These are the possible reasons why:
  • The document that the branch was attempting to create had a hard error. This hard error stopped our computer system from finishing the creation of the document, and it returned unrecognizable information back to the web site. The web site didnt know what to do with this information so it brought up the Error has occurred message. These errors have to be handled on a case-by-case basis. Usually the best that can be done is to gather as much information from the branch as possible. This would include, what was they were doing just prior to the error? What NIBCO customer number were they using ? What particular NIBCO materials, if any, were they attempting to look at? Provide this information to NIBCO Customer Service.

Password Cannot be Changed

If a branch gets this error message:
  • Your password can be changed only once in a business day.
  • Contact your security administrator if you continue to have problems
    • Administrators contact info given here
These are the possible reasons why:
    • The branch can only change their password once each day. If they attempt to do it more frequent than this, they will get this error. The only solution is to wait a day before the next password change.

    User ID Cannot Access Transaction

If a branch gets this error message:
    • does not currently have access to this transaction.
    • If you believe this to be an error contact Customer Service OR your security administrator
These are the possible reasons why:
    • The user has been locked out of this transaction by his or her security administrator. The only way to gain access to this transaction is for the security administrator to open up security.
